Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has been a chef and television personality in the United States and a teacher at Institute of Culinary Education. Anne W. Burrell is host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on Food Network. Food Network, as well as the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her trademark spiky blond hair and her pumped-up appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides straightforward, simple techniques to master to cook at home in her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Burrell is a chef who has been in the kitchen for a long time. Burrell is also a veteran of New York City's best restaurants. Additionally, she has learned about Italy's food traditions and culture, and the surrounding landscape. Early on, while growing up in the upstate area of New York, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. After earning an English and Communication diploma from Canisius College in Buffalo NY she was able to pursue her love of the business of restaurant by enroling as a student at The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America was an amazing learning experience for me. It was difficult to master and do enough or put in the hours. Following graduation, Chef Burrell went on to spend one period of time in Italy studying at Italy's Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. In Italy she gained an appreciation and understanding of Italian cuisine. It had a significant effect on the way she thinks about food. Burrell was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to brighten the lives of children who face problems. Additionally, she is a Juvenile Research Foundation celebrity ambassador which promotes awareness of children with diabetes. In her capacity as a guest speaker and mentor she travels across the US to talk about her love for cooking and career. In her journey to culinary excellence, Anne often says that she feels so lucky to be able to share my true passion for life with people.
